OUR LOVE STORY
How we met
We met on the 6th of December 2023, in Edinburgh Waverley train station. Several dates in a short space of time led to us being inseparable in the days and weeks that followed. After only spending a few days together a city break was planned in Poland for March the following year… probably in hope rather than expectation (but March came and we made it). Very early days Charlene asked Martin to move in with her… Martin accepted… however looking back Charlene states she did not ask him to move in… She merely asked him to “stop going home”. Declarations of love soon followed, Martin’s came first followed by several uncomfortable hours of silence… but eventually Charlene mustered up the courage to say it too.
Fast forward to
Fast forward to over a year together and we have our first home, we are engaged, have been on several holidays, planned a wedding and are now expecting the birth of our son in April. Often times we would take a break and wonder if we were moving too fast however we were told by some, particularly our mothers, we weren’t moving fast enough… Nothing to do with the fact that after 30 plus years both sets of parents needed a rest.
The proposal
27th of September 2024 – At 11 weeks pregnant Martin and Charlene decided to announce to their families their exciting news. They presented baby boxes and cards to family containing scan pictures. Not wanting to leave Charlene out and believing more excitement was needed Martin then gave Charlene her own box to open much to everyones surprise. When Charlene opened it there was a wedding planner and several engagement gifts within. When she turned around in bemusement Martin was down on one knee. The moment is captured on video however due to Martin being in tears and Charlene’s shock the question was never actually asked nor an answer given… never the less here we are…

Honeymoon Funds
Your company on our special day is all we need. However we plan to honeymoon in Australia this Christmas and any contributions would be greatly appreciated.
